The Sound Journey of Talisker: Capturing and Creating Its Sonic World

Working on the feature film Talisker as the sound recordist was an incredible experience. Being on set alongside such a talented cast and crew, including Michael C. Hall and director Caroline Corbett, gave me the opportunity to capture the raw, emotional energy of each scene firsthand. The project demanded an intimate and detailed approach to sound recording, requiring close collaboration with the director and cinematographer to maintain the delicate balance between performance and environment.

After the production phase, I was honored to be entrusted with the film’s complete sound design. Crafting the sonic world of Talisker from the ground up allowed me to deepen the emotional layers of the story through subtle textures, immersive ambiances, and dynamic soundscapes. It was a rare and rewarding opportunity to follow the film’s audio journey from set to post-production, helping to shape the final emotional impact for audiences.
